A Letter to GDUT Foreign Experts
亲爱的外国专家们：
Dear foreign experts,
2020年是极不平凡的一年，我们经历了疫情、隔离、等待……面对疫情，我们采取了最全面、最严格、最彻底的措施迎击疫情。在这极不平凡的一年中，各位专家与全体师生同甘苦，共患难，齐心协力阻击疫情。感谢你们坚守岗位，积极复工复课，与我们共克时艰！我们相信，通过我们的共同努力，一定能在不久的将来打赢这场疫情防控阻击战！
2020 has been an extraordinary year for all of us. Together we were faced with the pandemic outbreak and the uncertainties brought by it. Thank you all for standing along and working with us. We appreciate that you keep on with your research and teaching despite all the difficulties. With our joint efforts, surely we will win this battle soon.
然而，疫情还没有过去，国外疫情持续肆虐，国内部分地区疫情时而发生。值此寒假来临之际，我们呼吁大家继续保持警惕，严格遵守学校各项放假安排，继续同全校师生一起共同抗击疫情，我们建议：
However, the struggle is not over yet. The pandemic still rages overseas and reoccurs in China at times. Please continue to stay vigilant and healthy, and take heed of the latest regulations of the university regarding pandemic prevention. For the coming winter break, we would like to share with you the following suggestions:
1.合理安排时间，及时返校复工
按照学校安排，教职工寒假时间为1月19日（星期二）至2月25日（星期四）,开学上班时间为2月26日（星期五），具体教学安排遵循所在学院通知。
Arrange time reasonably for returning to work.
According to the school’s arrangement, the winter vacation for faculty members is from January 19th (Tuesday) to February 25th (Thursday), and the school will start and work on February 26th (Friday). Please follow the notice of the college for specific teaching arrangements.
2. 注意个人卫生，加强自我防护。
-保持良好的卫生习惯，勤洗手。餐前便后、外出回家、接触垃圾、抚摸动物或处理动物粪便后，要用流动的水和肥皂洗手，揉搓的时间不少于15秒。
-在咳嗽、打喷嚏时，需要用纸巾或肘部进行遮挡，不要用手直接遮挡。不随地吐痰。废弃口罩按规定规范投放。
-适当开窗通风，注意保持室内环境卫生。
-避免接触任何野生动物或家禽家畜。
-肉类和蛋类请彻底煮熟后食用。
2. Pay close attention to personal hygiene and self-protection.
-Please keep good hygiene by washing hands correctly and regularly with soap and running water for at least 15 seconds, especially:
After petting, feeding handling or having any other contact with animals, their living quarters or their waste.
-Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, or you can cough or sneeze into your sleeve, but avoid covering your face with your hands. No spitting. Dispose of used masks appropriately.
-Maintain proper ventilation and keep rooms clean.
-Avoid contact with wild animals or farm livestock without any protection.
-Eggs and meat must be thoroughly cooked before consumption.
3. 尽量减少外出。
- 尽量在广州过春节，非必要不离开广州；不前往国内中高风险地区和国（境）外地区。
-尽量避免前往人员密集的场所，尽量减少聚会聚餐等集体活动。若必须前往，请正确佩戴口罩，首选医用外科口罩。
-避免近距离接触有流感或者感冒症状的人。
—短期外出，请确保公寓内用电/用水/燃气的安全，及时关闭开关，个人贵重物品妥善保管。
3. Minimize outdoor activities.
-Please try not to go out as possible as you can.-Try to spend the Spring Festival in Guangzhou, and do not leave Guangzhou unless necessary; do not go to domestic high-risk areas and areas outside main land China.。
-Avoid crowded places, parties and group activities. If you must attend one, correctly wear your surgical mask.
-Avoid close contact with people who have flu or cold-like symptoms.
-When leaving out for a short-term period, please ensure the safety of electricity/water/gas use in the apartment, please turn off the switch in time and keep your personal valuables properly.
4. 配合医务人员工作。
-如果您从外地抵穗或抵穗前14天内到访过疫情高发地区，或最近14天内曾接触过疫情高发地区的来穗人员，请密切关注自身的身体状况，居家观察14天。观察期间减少外出，不参加聚会和集体活动。应当及时报告有关情况。如果有政府、社区工作人员、医务人员询问您的情况，请您积极配合他们的工作。未出现症状的，观察期满14天解除观察。
-若出现发热、咳嗽、胸闷、乏力等症状，须佩戴口罩到我市正规医院的发热门诊就诊，并向国际交流合作处报告有关情况。前往医院避免乘坐公共交通工具。
就医时主动告知医生近14天的旅行史及周围人员是否有类似病例，听从医生指引，配合卫生防疫人员完成流行病学调查。
4. Cooperate with the medical staff.
-If you arrive in Guangzhou from other places or have visited areas listed as medium- or high-risk regions, please conduct self-quarantine for a 14-day observation without attending any meetings, gatherings or group activities. Please keep the university updated with your latest health conditions. Please cooperate with local government or community personnel or medical staff if they inquire about your condition.
-If you have symptoms such as fever, cough, breathing difficulty or fatigue, please seek medical assistance in the nearest designated hospital with your mask on, and avoid using public transportation. Meanwhile, report your condition to University immediately. Please inform the medical staff with your travel history of the previous 14 days and whether you had contact with confirmed cases. Please follow medical instructions, and support epidemiological survey if required.
